Wine
Stefano Lubiana Sasso Pinot Noir is the flagship Pinot Noir, made only in the finest vintages. Its vineyard in southern Tasmania's Derwent Valley is certified biodynamic.
The fruit is handpicked from three unique blocks of this single vineyard: Il Giardino, La Roccia and Ruscello, each characterized by gravelly soils. The name Sasso is from the Italian word for 'stone'.
Burgundian in style, the winemaking follows a hands off approach. The grapes are mostly destemmed for wild yeast fermentation, with a small proportion left as whole bunches.
The wine matures in new and seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months. Only exceptional barrels are selected for bottling.
Dark vermillion, Stefano Lubiana Sasso Pinot Noir is medium to full bodied with rich red fruit flavours, silky savoury tannins and a long finish. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
